One and a half month before the elections Haagsch College takes a look a the Dutch economy. What is the unemployment rate after four years of the Second Rutte cabinet? How are the national budget deficit and the housing market developing? Is our purchasing power increasing? Is there reason to smile after the economic crisis?

While political parties are debating on election topics, Marieke Blom, chief economist at ING Netherlands, takes a look at statistics and trends. Which parts of the Dutch economy are developing well and which are not?
