Frans van Daele is the former 'chef du cabinet' of the president of the European Council, Herman van Rompuy. Van Daele is a thoughtful diplomat with an impressive track record on the European and international stage. As chef du cabinet he worked on the most important, toughest and complex dossiers the president of the European Council is charged with. Van Daele is convinced of the need for further European integration, but in his work realism and pragmatism took precedent. For his services the king of Belgium bestowed upon him the title of baron.
