As of 1 September, the Montesquieu Institute welcomes Markus Haverland as Montesquieu fellow. He is
an Associate Professor in Political Science at the Department of Public Administration, School of Social Sciences at the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
His research and teaching interests include EU policy-making and its effects on member states, comparative politics and public policy, methodology and the design of causal case studies.
At the institute he conducts research on the consequences of the increasing politicization of the EU for the different phases of European policy processes (agenda setting, venue choice, the role of interest groups, national attitude, negotiation and decision-making, policy implementation and compliance).
