Montesquieu Institute: from science to society

The green battle: the Netherlands on the road to sustainability

You would expect sustainability to be a high priority for a small, over-crowded country like ours. But even now, in 2017, fulfilling the standards set by the Paris Agreement in 2015 seems as far away as ever.

What can our government do to make the Netherlands more sustainable? How do current issues, like gas extraction in Groningen and the debate on the closing of coal plants, influence the national policy? A debate led by Max van Weezel.

Speakers: Pier Vellinga, Annemieke Roobeek, Suzanne Kröger and Marco Visscher.

Date: September 6th 2017, 17.15 - 18.30

Location: Press center Nieuwspoort, Lange Poten 10, The Hague
