The EU commission said the ongoing spat between the Belgian EU commissioner Karel de Gucht and his country's tax authorities is "private." "It's a legal dispute, we don't want to interfere," said a spokesperson Tuesday. De Gucht is accused of not paying tax on a sale of shares worth €1.2m.
