The United Nations Millennium Declaration calls on governments to work in collaboration with the private sector to achieve ambitious sustainability goals, actively contribute to the protection and conservation of the World\'s natural resources and fight against climate change. Most scientists attribute a key role to technology in achieving these objectives. Information technology, in particular, can make an essential contribution in promoting sustainable development.

The First International Conference on Eco-Technology and Green Computing (GreenTech) focuses on the role of green Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in accomplishing more eco-responsible and energy efficient solutions in computing and promoting environmentally friendly computer technologies and systems.

The event aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners who are interested in both ICT and the ecological impact of computing on the environment. Experts from Industry who are committed to work on the development of eco-efficient technologies and technology applications are also welcome.
