EU Delegated and Implementing Acts at a Glance - Montesquieu Institute

Montesquieu Institute from science to society
Brussel, het Atomium
date October 15 2012
city Brussel, Belgium
organisation European Institute for Public Administration (EIPA)

Target group

This one-day seminar is directed at civil servants from EU Member States, candidate countries and the EU Institutions, as well as at other stakeholders already having an understanding of how ‘old’ (pre-Lisbon) comitology used to work - but who require a timely one-day debriefing on the new worlds of Delegated and Implementing Acts.

Description

The seminar updates participants on how Delegated and Implementing Acts, brought about by the Treaty of Lisbon (Articles 290-291 TFEU), work in practice. It will provide an in-depth theoretical and practical overview of both Delegated and Implementing Acts, their preparation, discussion and adoption.

Method

The one-day seminar will be based on presentations, but will integrate case-studies and current examples to enable participants to see Delegated and Implementing Acts at work.

Objectives

This seminar aims to update participants already familiar with the ‘old’ (pre-Lisbon) comitology system on the developments instigated by the Treaty of Lisbon. It will equip participants with the knowledge and tools to understand how Delegated and Implementing Acts work.
