Conference surrounding publication 'The presidents of the European Commission' - Montesquieu Institute

On 18 and 19 November a conference took place in Groningen with the authors of the publication 'The presidents of the European Commission, 1958-2012'. This publication focuses on the different presidents of the European Commission. The authors focused on the role that these presidents have played during their presidency and analyze to what extent their role was significant in the debate of the European integration. During this two day conference the draft chapters of the authors have been discussed and reviewed.

All authors who participate in this project, are (internationally) renowned biographers who have published on their main actors before, or, are an expert in the field of the history of European integration of their home country. Jan van der Harst and Gerrit Voerman, chief editors of this publication, wrote an introduction and a conclusion for this book. In addition the publication also contains a more general introduction on the European Commission written by Jan Werts.
