Presidents of the European Commission (1958-2010) - Montesquieu Institute

On behalf of DNPP, Gerrit Voerman and Jan van der Harst, are working on the forthcoming publication of the Presidents of the European Comission in the period of 1958-2010. Currently there is no comparative overview of the presidents and their contribution in the field of European integration. 

Of the first four presidents a brief overview was published in a book edited by the Belgian historian Michel Dumoulin, The European Commission 1958-1972: History and Memories of an Institution (2007) . The forthcoming publication will try to fill in the historiographical gap and will analyze the role that each president has played and their significance in the debate on European integration.
