On 8, 9 and 10 October, the Montesquieu Institute - in cooperation with the Master European Union Studies of Leiden University and the Campus The Hague - organised an international conference about the European Union and the media. In Brussels it is often claimed that the EU is ignored by the press, or that that national political ends are misinterpreted . The recent European Parliament elections were, of course, an excellent opportunity for the European Union to invest in strong media coverage in the media. With this in mind, the conference addressed relevant aspects of the European Union and its relation with its citizens through the use of the media.
