Directorate-General Internal Market and Services (MARKT) - Montesquieu Institute

The most important task of this Directorate-General is the coordination of the policy of the European Commission concerning the internal market. The internal market's goal is to secure the free travel of persons, goods, services and capital within the EU. Hindrances of this free travel have to be decreased as much as possible. The DG also has specific policy-making tasks in a number of economic sectors.

The main tasks of DG are:
